ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) - On Sunday, over 3,000 people celebrated the 52nd Annual Festival of Nations at the Empire State Plaza Convention Center. From the colorful outfits everyone was wearing, it was definitely a festive festival celebrating each country’s unique features. And an event that is well-needed when many feel the world can be divisive. This event is a reminder of what unites everyone- arts…music…and, of course, the food. ST. LOUIS COUNTY – Police arrived to a robbery incident during which the victim was also physically assaulted with a punch to the face on November 4 at approximately 11:23 p.m.The victim reported that the incident was a recent hold-up. He explained that the suspect approached him and initially asked for a cigarette. However, when the victim informed the suspect that he didn't have one, the situation escalated. The suspect then showed a black handgun, aimed it at the victim, and demanded the victim's belongings.When the victim resisted and refused to surrender his property, the suspect resorted to violence, striking the victim in the face. ST. LOUIS COUNTY – Police received a call from a Super 8 motel in the early hours of November 5, around 1:20 a.m. The call was in response to a robbery in which a person they had just met held the victim at gunpoint.According to the victim, she had met the suspect just the day before, and they had exchanged phone numbers. Then the two had arranged to meet in the victim's hotel room later. While at the motel, the suspect produced a handgun and threatened the victim, demanding money. ST. LOUIS COUNTY -- Officers responded to a call regarding a carjacking n November 4, at approximately 5 p.m. The victim recounted that he was seated in his parked vehicle on Arlington, close to Patton, when a group of young men approached his vehicle.One of the individuals, wearing a mask, waved a handgun and demanded the victim exit the vehicle. They proceeded to take the victim's black .40 caliber handgun and cellphone. Additionally, they physically assaulted the victim by repeatedly striking him in the face before making their escape in the victim's burgundy 2018 Ford Escape.Officers conducted a search and found the victim's vehicle parked and unoccupied in the 5300 block of Patton. ST. LOUIS COUNTY – On a Sunday morning at around 7:45 a.m., officers were dispatched to a gas station in the 3700 block of St. Ferdinand in response to a robbery involving a 31-year-old victim. According to the victim, he had been at the gas station located at Page/N Grand Blvd, on November 4 when the robbery took place.The incident began when the suspect offered to sell the victim a pair of Bluetooth headphones for $50. Both individuals then proceeded to the 3700 block of St. Ferdinand, where the victim handed over the money to the suspect. One person was killed and six others injured in an overnight shooting outside of a motorcycle cub in Denver’s Park Hill neighborhood, police said Sunday.Denver police officers responded to reports of a shooting at 5514 E. 33rd Ave., in the building adjacent to the Horizon Lounge, at 3:09 a.m. Sunday, said Kurt Barnes, a spokesperson for the department.Based on preliminary investigation, the shooting appears to be linked to an after-hours gathering at the Hell’s Lovers Motorcycle Club at that address, Denver police Cmdr. Matt Clark said.Investigators found evidence of multiple guns being fired outside of the club, but officers are still determining whether any shots were fired inside, Barnes said.Barnes said six of the victims were adult men and one was an adult woman, but their names have not been released. WALNUT CREEK — Police are investigating two daytime robberies in downtown Walnut Creek Friday that left victims with minor injuries after they were held up by masked suspects who threatened them with guns and made off with their wallets and jewelry.While the robberies occurred within two hours of each other Friday afternoon, Walnut Creek police do not believe at this time they are related, according to a news release.Police received a call about the first robbery in the Newell Promenade shopping center, across Newell Avenue from Kaiser Permanente Medical Center, at about 1:11 p.m. The victim was getting into an Uber rideshare when confronted by two men wearing masks, with one brandishing a dark-colored handgun, police said.
